How to Dry Herbs?
To enjoy the actual benefits of herbs you need to take proper care of herbs while you are going to dry them. Here are the exact ways in which you need to perform.
- You always need to harvest herbs in the morning, when the dews dry off.
- After harvesting the herbs you need to remove the dirt and wash them with cold water. After washing shake the water off.
- After washing, try to remove the dead and discolored leaves gently from the harvested part.
- Now gather the harvested stems and cut them into small parts. Now, you can tie them together with rubber bands or string.
- Then you need to hang the bundle upside down in a warm, dark, dust free and well-ventilated area. You may opt for the over the water heater or the attic.
- You can take down the bundle when you can see that they have become dry and fragile.
- Now you can strip off the leaves from the branches.
- After stripping those off you can store them into plastic bags, small jars or clean containers.
