Eucalyptus essential oil is obtained from the leaves and branches of eucalyptus tree, called ‘Eucalyptus globulus’. A process of steam distillation is used to extract this oil from the plant. Some ‘110 pounds’ of plant material is required to extract about ‘two pounds of oil’. Eucalyptus essential oil is very beneficial for skin problems, fevers, cold and respiratory ailments. The oil also contains germicidal and antibacterial effects.
