Catnip, also called catmint and scientifically called “Nepata cataria”, is a well known medicinal herb. The herb is so called because it triggers a pheromone-like effect in cats which make them to roll, rub, lick, jump, drool or growl, though it is also suggested that some cats do not show any reaction to catnip.
