Dandruff can be an enormous turn-off even for otherwise beautiful figures. You try shampoo after shampoo, oil after oil before finally deciding to chop off your hair or in the case of men, shave off the head. But herbal treatment gives hope to all flaky friends around to get back that bouncy, lustrous, dandruff-free hair. Here are some natural remedies for dandruff:
Rosemary: For a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon chopped leaves. Steep, strain, and apply once a day as a compress. Tea bags and tinctures are also available. Topical use may cause allergic dermatitis.
Olive oil: olive oil left on hair for 8-9 hours can cure dandruff.
Fenugreek: Soak two tablespoons fenugreek seeds in water overnight. In the morning, grind it to a fine paste. Apply all over the scalp and leave it on for one hour. Wash it off with a mild shampoo.
Lemon cure: Apply warm coconut oil with lemon juice on the scalp and leave it on for 2-3 hours. Wash off with warm water and leave it open to dry.
Apple Cider Vinegar: A home remedy for dandruff is to mix 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup water. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle and spritz it on to your hair and scalp, being careful to avoid the eye and ear area. Wrap your head in a towel. After 15 minutes to an hour, remove the towel and wash your hair. This is generally done once to twice a week.
