It also contains Agropyrene, Chlorophyll and Apigenin. Drinking wheatgrass juice or chewing it is highly beneficial for your health. Wheatgrass has anti-oxidant, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Wheatgrass is available in the market. You can even grow wheatgrass easily in your house. All you need to grow wheatgrass in your home is: wheatgrass seeds, planting soil, growing trays or pots, peat moss and scissors. Given below is the systematic process of to grow wheatgrass at your home.
- You can easily get the wheatgrass seeds from the local nursery or a health food store.
- You can even buy wheatgrass growing kit which consists of organic seeds, soil, growing tray and the instructions.
- In a container or a jar soak the wheatgrass seeds for at least 10-12 hours.
- In the ratio of 3:1 mix the planting soil and peat moss and put the mixture 2 inches deep in the growing tray. Make sure that the growing trays have holes for the proper drainage of the water.
- Equally water the soil and evenly spread the soaked wheatgrass seeds across the soil.
- Gently cover the seeds with the peat moss and with the help of spray bottle water the peat moss. In the mornings soak the soil and in the evenings slightly spray for at least 3 days. After 3 days water according to the need to the soil.
- Minimum for 10 days keep the wheatgrass away from direct sunlight.
- When the grass has reached 7 inches of height you can cut the grass. But remember to cut ½ inch above the soil.
