Aromatherapy Herbs

We are well aware of the extraordinary medicinal properties that herbs possess. Apart from the medicinal properties it is the natural scent of these herbs that makes them very useful for Aromatherapy.

Natural compounds or natural scents are hidden in the various parts of the herbs like the flowers, leaves, stem, seeds and roots. These are extracted by distillation or fractionation processes to make Essential Oils.

Aromatherapy uses the aromatic essential oils to activate the limbic system and emotional centers of the brain to cure several health problems. When these essential oils are massaged on to our body they active the activate the thermal receptors relaxing and soothing our nerves.

Each herb has different properties that can relieve a number of illness. It is believed that these herbal essential oils strengthen our immune system by their detoxifying nature.

Basil – effective in curing bronchitis, migraine, fatigue, aches and pains

Cajeput – improves concentration, elevates spirit, reduces acne, pains, cold, flu and muscular pains

Chamomile – soothes tired muscles, encourages emotional peace and calmness of body and mind.

Lavender – Helps ease anger, anxiety, stress, insomnia, nervousness and depression. It is also good for arthritis, joint pains, chest pains and healing burns and bruises. It also soothes tired muscles, brings calmness and tranquility. It is also beneficial for the skin.

Sage – revitalizes, strengthens vitality, eases anxiety, tension, anger and depression. Helps fight problems like excessive perspiration, sinus, recurrent colds and flu.

Ylang Ylang – It soothes and uplifts jagged nerves. It is also very good for oily and dry skin.
